Micro-philanthropy -- that ambiguous term that refers to all things socially networked, small-scale, and charitable -- will have matured. The fact is that program officers at foundations, boomers, and prospective employees are all turning to social networks to get a sense of your organization. This is a flawed assumption.

Before I go further, I have thank everyone for the early birthday present - a donation to the Sharing Foundation. Last year, when I turned 51, I posted a challenge on my blog - could I get 51 people to donate $10 to the Sharing Foundation? I think this is application might just be a winner: It meshes with Facebook culture.

The Knight Foundation is sponsoring The Knight News Challenge and they've got $5 million to give away. Fundraising and Philanthropy 2.0. young people???, young people???
