The Johnny Cash Project: A Participatory Music Video That Sings

What's the "use" of visitors' comments? To construct the video, artist Chris Milk assembled images and footage of Johnny Cash in a sequence along with the song. The result is a beautiful animated video that composites together alternative frames created by participants all over the world. That's hardly revolutionary.

What Could Kill an Elegant, High-Value Participatory Project?

It's my "artistic rendering" of one of the most inspirational participatory projects I know of--the Bibliotheek Haarlem Oost book drops. There was an alternative system next to the tagging system to improve the flow, but people did not want to be rude and waited patiently on their turn- so the alternative did not work.
