Organization: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The tools I am currently using are Facebook, two Twitter accounts (one for National messaging via @PanCAN and one specifically for advocacy efforts via @Advocate4PanCAN), YouTube, LinkedIn, MySpace and Delicious. It helped people connect and experience Advocacy Day 2010 from their homes.
For a sector often looking for creative ways to communicate our message, QR codes are a great tool for things like advocacy and scavenger hunts. Breast Cancer has impacted my family, like many others, and I grew up participating in Komen’s Race for the Cure in Portland every year with my mom. The first time, the effort split in two; with one group focused on fundraising and another on advocacy and awareness. The second, a faction chose to opt out of the Super Bowl effort.
