This is my fourth BlogHer Conference. Amy Gahran gave a writing workshop at BlogHer that was very inspiring. All of the advice about "getting to the point" is what I hope to put into practice in the coming months. What's your advice about improving your blog design or writing? Flowers in the neighborhood.
The work is difficult, but Brian’s advice and practical tools on how to approach donors in this book will make you successful. I picked up many tips and grabbed a copy of the book, which provides practical advice and examples that will get your nonprofit up to speed quickly in sharing stories with impact.
Earlier this week, I attended SXSW in Austin, Texas and met many interesting people and connected with old friends, including BlogHer colleagues CE's Queen of Spain , Liz Perry , and Virginia DeBolt. In addition, there are several awesome bloghers that write about careers and leadership issues in the nonprofit sector that you should follow.
Two of favorite nonprofit BlogHers, Michele Martin (of the Bamboo Project ), and Rosetta Thurman(of Perspectives from the Pipeline ) are interested in piloting one-day free retreat for about 15 women on a Saturday in the Washington, DC area. The only cost to participants would be for food, and potentially meeting space.
Almost two years ago at the first Blogher Conference I was lucky enough to interview and get to know Lisa Canter (we aren't related but I learned a few things about the kanter/canter name from her husband, Marc ). As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to tell everyone how grateful I am for their contributions, links, and advice.

The networking was fabulous - meeting many new bloggers in the Boston area as well as seeing long-time blogher buddies and of course, Jory, Lisa, and Elisa. At blogher, I attended a workshop on video blogging lead by Ryanne Hodson and Zadi Diaz. Any advice? I was considering doing a quick and dirty screencast, but while browsing my feeds I noticed that one of my favorite bloghers Amy Gahran (the photo above was taken at BlogHer when we finally met face-to-face) had written about this very topic.
