I’m here at the 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference in San Francisco this week and hope to share some brief nuggets. The conference got off to an exciting start this morning in a very unique way. Holly Ross welcomed everyone and thanked the event sponsors who made it possible for 50 NTC Scholarships.

Every year, the NTEN community comes together to raise enough money to send staff from small nonprofits to the NTC. We firmly believe it's the diversity of our community that makes us strong. The silliness is, of course, a means to an end: creating a community devoted to transforming technology into social change.

David, the Chief Technologist for the Pierce Family Charitable Foundation , has been an integral part of the NTEN community since he first joined in 2007. As NTEN community members, you understand the value of embracing change, from that new database to the change you drive forward through your mission-focused work. We’re constantly confronted with change – and this NTC was no exception.
Back in those days, a couple hundred people would show up for the NTC. but the passion of the community was unbridled and big. John Kenyon , Michael Stein , Deborah Elizabeth Finn , Robert Weiner , Jane Meseck , Michael Gilbert , and Beth Kanter are just a few of amazing the community members who have been with NTEN as long as I have.
Although devastated by the loss of the NTC Scholarship bake sale cookies, the NTEN staff was quick to come up with other fundraising ideas. Karl, our IT Director, suggested one way he thought we could raise money for NTC scholarships. Watch the video, and donate to the campaign !
