Small orgs work quickly, but often times that acceleration lacks direction. Leverage the SMALL ORG ADVANTAGE by looking for donated or discounted licenses. Not necessarily, according to the 2011 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study , just released at the 2011 NTC by M+R and NTEN. That's just one of the fascinating drops of knowledge in the " 2011 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study ". For every 1000 e-mail subscribers, orgs had 110 Facebook fans, 19 followers on Twitter, and 19 mobile users.

Aroneanu garnered the most votes from the NTEN community, from among a pool of finalists that included founders of Kiva.org and KaBoom, as well as leaders of Network for Good and Watershed Company.

The 2011 Nonprofit Social Network Benchmark Report found that 30% of Master Fundraisers – those that brought in more than $100,000 – were small organizations and a further 8% were medium-sized. It turns out that nonprofits of all sizes are able to scale their fundraising efforts on social networks.

Bring a pen to write down your twitter handle on your organization’s card, or to jot down a personal note about your org. The NTEN staff are great at posting the latest updates about sessions, coffee replenishment and fun contests. Bring business cards. Exchanging business cards is great! Bonus tip: bring cash. While we took a look at the number of tech staff benchmark in the first post in this series, I'd like to now turn to the org staff-per-tech staff benchmark. Recommendations: From NTEN's perspective, this provides more valuable considerations for nonprofit leaders when determing their staffing needs and their long-term strategic planning.
In January 2011, at a gathering hosted by TechSoup Global, we began talking about how to model our own ideals. In summer 2011, we received funding from Microsoft to bring our groups together to answer at least one question: which nonprofits do our organizations serve separately, and collectively.
The study looked at peer-to-peer giving across 39 organizations over the last 3 years (from 2011 to 2013). We rolled out ProvingIt.org in October 2011. Anybody could observe our progress, at any time. And when we fail, the donor would be notified at the same time as the executive director. It isn’t perfect. In fact, we think of it like a small bicycle on a freeway. But it is exactly what we wanted to get us started.

Last week was the 2011 Nonprofit Technology Conference and not only did I have the pleasure of presenting a couple sessions, it was also my first NTC as a staffer, as I joined NTEN earlier this month. Org is a terrific example of a CDSI campaign. Campaigns: 350.org.
