On the last day of the Nonprofit Technology Conference each year, we have an Awards Lunch and Community Celebration. NTEN gives two awards to NTEN Members, including the Lifetime Achievement Award , which we blogged about already. The best part is all the fun we have along the way.

While we’re grateful to all members of NTEN, there are, of course, those of you who go beyond the proverbial "call of duty" and impact the NTEN community by providing extra time, resources, and wisdom to assist NTEN's work in this sector.
Each year, NTEN recognizes a member of this community who has furthered the work of the nonprofit technology field through dedication, innovation, and leadership. This year, we are thrilled to honor Judy Hallman for her work with this award.

Bhagat garnered the most votes from the NTEN community, from among a pool of incredibly accomplished finalists including Nancy Lublin of DoSomething.org , Geoff Handy of Humane Society of the U.S., billion in 2011 alone. The DoGooder Awards recognize nonprofits that see the importance in this in hopes that others with take the step and begin to use video in their programs. You can submit your videos from February 4, 2011 until March 2, 2011. For nonprofits, video is a great way to share your mission, messages and goals.

Every November, we invite NTEN members to have a little more fun than usual and bask in a big wave of Member Appreciation. There are several calls for awards nominations echoing through the crisp Spring air: Ashoka's Youth Venture is looking for the best young innovators from the U.S. Nominations are also open for the NPower Greater DC Region Technology Innovation Awards. To honor these heroes, Care2 is today unveiling a new annual award, the Care2 Impact Prize , to recognize individuals in the nonprofit sector who have made an outstanding impact on the field of online advocacy, online fundraising or both. The winner will receive a cash award of $1,000, plus $1,000 to donate to their favorite charity.

After a little over three years at the helm of NTEN, I still thank Katrin almost daily for one particular gift she gave us: our values ! NTEN used a hybrid crowdsourcing approach to solicit panel proposals for its NTC 2011, similar in design and approach to the method SXSW has used. It can help organizations make a traditionally closed process more transparent and ultimately improve the level of feedback. Conferences have taken this approach to shaping their agenda.
