This year, we are thrilled to honor Judy Hallman for her work with this award. She worked on a vacuum tube machine in 1960 and in 1967 she was tasked to document and organize information so UNC Chapel Hill faculty could use computers better – no small feat, right? Her first job in computing came long before the Web.
