Lame spam of the day: spam mashup

This plain-text spam has no sender, subject, formatting, or graphics. After that comes what looks like an email header, then some spam text, then a bunch of blank lines, and finally, to cap the effort, random text from travel guides. Another newbie spammer playing with a toy? Nothing unusual there.

Lame spams of the day: assorted LinkedIn ploys

Lots of spam is coming from fake LinkedIn accounts these days. Š 2010, LinkedIn Corporation. I think favorite lame LinkedIn spam was the one that said it came from LinkedIn Connections [connections@linkedin.com], provided a tracking number, and was formatted like a UPS delivery notification. Review your letters settings.

Lame spam of the day: Fake eFaxes

There were lots of warnings in 2010 about fake eFax messages delivering malware. This one's scary since I'm an eFax user. But I was suspicious that it was asking me to click on a link (pointing to a server in Germany) rather than open an attachment. I don't know what this one does and don't intend to find out. Here's what they look like.

Will Facebook Authenticate “Nonprofit Organizations” or Shut It Down?

I am definitely not spamming my fans with useless content, and use the site to promote and help nonprofits and social causes. As soon as Facebook launched Community Pages , I knew this day coming. It has taken 2.5 years and lots of promotion (of Facebook to nonprofits) to reach those 10,004 fans. All I can do now is wait.
