I love NTC (NTEN’s Nonprofit Technology Conference). And, this year, for the very first time, I live in the same city in which NTC is taking place. I’m a member of NTEN and a huge fan. I’m thrilled that their 2009 Nonprofit Technology Conference will be held at the San Francisco Hilton this year, April 26-28. Here’s what the NTEN folks have to say: The 2009NTC will be THE place to engage around the technology issues that face the nonprofit sector. .
This year, I’m much more clear about the directions my work is going in, and what I’m looking for at NTC. Last year I was just re-emerging from having taken a break to go to seminary, and not quite exactly sure what I was doing. And of course, there is Penguin Day !!

The last time I saw him was in 2009 in San Francisco at the NTC. I just learned that Rob passed away , leaving behind a wife and two daughters. Rob Stuart shared my birthday, Jan. But we also shared more than that – the nonprofit technology field. Rob was the godfather.

Despite the tough economic times, it seems the community is really excited about the 2009NTC. I'm proud of the team here at NTEN for putting together an event that is so valued by the community. There are some fabulous sessions proposed for the 2009NTC , running the whole gamut of nonprofit technology, from planning to Web 2.0, That’s an interesting model, and, if the software is decent, sounds like it could be a good option for some organizations. But, of course, as with anything, look (a lot) before you leap.

This post gives me the chance to finally write the very belated post on MPower I’ve been meaning to write since I got back from NTC. I had a great sit-down with Randy McCabe , CEO and Leo D’Angelo (CTO) of MPower at NTC. MPower is not a new product. It’s been around for quite a while, and has a solid user base.
