Soon afterwards in 2007, we won our first major award from the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), which, in turn, allowed us to build Bookshare into a national asset. We first extended Bookshare services internationally in 2008 with the launch of Bookshare in India.

Historically, federal and state laws have viewed nonprofit and for-profit entities as mutually exclusive organizations whose work rarely, if ever, overlapped.

On April 15, 2008 I talked with Janessa Goldbeck, the Director of Membership at the Genocide Intervention Network, about what we can all do about genocide. Our members envision a world in which the global community is willing and able to protect civilians from genocide and mass atrocities. Someone should have done something.
