Here's an article about a similar batch in 2007. A friend posted about them on a listserve and said that clicking the link downloads a virus. This scam has been around for a while. Lame spam of the day: U.N. natural disaster victim payment

This spam is both lame (no graphic, no attempt to make the senders address look legit, mangled English) and odious -- preying on disaster victims (one can hope they're just preying on greedy idiots who will pretend to be disaster victims). Sender: Ban ki Moon (Info@cast.net). Subject: United Nations Headquarters. Thanks for your co-operation.

New Google and Yahoo Standards for Email

Now here’s the bad news: if you don’t get on board with the new requirements, you’re likely to see your emails going to spam. Open that email, click the three horizontal dots on the top next to the spam button, and select “View raw message.” Google and Yahoo have announced that they want to keep user-reported spam rates below 0.3%.
