The Promise of Generative AI Generative AI refers to deep-learning models capable of generating human-like outputs, including text, images, video, and audio. Generative AI can also personalize its outputs, providing renditions in whatever language and tone required. Examples include ChatGPT, Dall-E, and DeepSeek.
Powered by its flagship multimodal model, GPT-4o, the chatbot can now create visuals straight from the chat interface. OpenAI says the world knowledge trained into the GPT-4o model allows ChatGPT to better understand the contexts in which images are used. Users can refine images by prompting the model with natural language.
Right now, models aren't actually risky, so work which is directly focused on evaluating risk doesn't provide that much of the value (though getting a better sense of the overall viability of control does seem valuable, but might be difficult).
