TechSoup partnered with agencies like USAID and tech companies like Microsoft and Yahoo to host these "tech for good" challenges annually via our NetSquared program.

We got to know Ushahidi's work when it entered our legendary third NetSquared Mashup Challenge in Santa Clara, California in May of 2008. I was there that year and the competition was intense.
