For example, I extracted many insights about the international development field reading books like Easterly’s Tyranny of Experts or Maren’s Road to Hell. His “Law of Amplification” was particularly insightful: “technology’s primary effect is to amplify human forces.”

Met with a major international human rights defender group about our Martus technology and digital security more generally. law needs to change to comply with the treaty (the hope is that these changes are minimal). It was the third Africa Forum I’ve attended: I went to Accra, Ghana, in 2011 and South Africa in 2004.
